Vintage Menagerie Nursery Coverlet / Wall Hanging

Era: handmade 1930s-50s

Cornflower blue squares alternate with hand sewn and embroidered animals cut from a variety of patterned fabrics on white. Hand-done stitching, Light fade and wear throughout, and scattered losses to embroidery give this nursery textile an utterly sweet, nostalgic feel. Very light weight, would make a nice decorative coverlet or I love the idea of hanging it.

Condition as described. Freshly washed. Exhibits flaws, fade and losses that add character. A few small scattered holes to blue squares (do not go through to backing). Tear in lower left border has an old interface mend. Square with elephant wearing hat has some yellowing.
