Victorian Gold-Wrapped Claw Pendant

antique c. 1870s

Natural animal claw elegantly nestled in a sleeve of warm 9 karat gold, finished with a ball at the tip and a scalloped edge at the head. Offered with a modern 18" 14kt goldfill rolo chain with spring ring clasp. 

hallmarked "9 ct" (indicating likely British origins)

1 1/2" long, including bale, just under 1/2" wide

very good/excellent condition.
