Petite Antique Alligator/Crocodile Hide Purse

era:1900-1920s

interesting little alligator or crocodile leather bag featuring the tail spikes as a decorative element. fabulous meaty brass hardware and long brass chain link strap. leather interior.

stamped on clasp "PAT. FEB. 27, 1900"

6 1/2" long, 4 1/2" tall, 2" deep at base

good/very good condition. leather is overall in very good shape, no dryness or cracking. rope trim shows wear/loss (see images). hardware is in good condition, clasp and hinges work great. some greening to interior brass frame (see) images. interior shows some usewear but overall clean and intact. faint must/storage scent. definitely a useable-with-care piece although perhaps best for display.
