unique geometric novelty print in candy red, hunter green and white + grey. dramatic padded pockets on the bodice, full bias cut skirt with voluminous draped hip swags. plunging wrap-style neckline has had snaps and a hook added at a later date. really interesting and thoughtfully designed/tailored piece!
material: rayon
closure: metal side zipper
label: Oval Room, Orbach's, Wilshire Boulevard.
Orbach's was a mid-range department store chain from 1923-1987. The Wilshire Blvd. location opened in LA, California in 1948.
condition: very good. freshly laundered and ready to wear. some flaws on close inspection: some scattered faint spots of dye run that largely get lost in fabric and drape. some seam stresses, some stress at underarms. pockets are padded with a material that has stiffened a bit and transferred faint grey tone to the fabric. dress was taken in at the waist by a previous owner. overall still a great wearable piece, priced accordingly.
