Antique Victorian Nut Fob and Chain

c. 1860s-80s

nice chunky brass  cable chain with dog clasp, T-bar, and interesting natural nut fob. It is similar to a chestnut/buckeye or kukui nut but I don't think it's either of those.

total length of chain: 11 1/4" (not long enough to wear around the neck as-is)
nut measures about 1 1/4" dia.

condition notes: longer chain links have a brassier finish than the circular links, which read more gold. hard to tell if this two-toned quality was intentional or is the result of wear/patina.
