Antique Victorian Goldfill Locket and Book Chain

c. 1880s

A statement-making piece. The meaty book chain composed of rolled-gold fan and bow shaped links. The oval locket with fine hand-etched scenes of forget-me-nots on both exterior sides, opening to two interior compartments, one with original removable frame parts and a lock of hair tied in a blue ribbon.  two large spring rings connect the chain and pendant locket.
