Antique Victorian Banded Locket

antique c. 1890s

Oval-shaped silver and gold wash locket with high-relief banding alternating with channels hand-engraved with geometric zig-zag motifs. Interior holds a nice hinged metal frame with glass panel which opens to add/remove a photo, mantra, or lock of hair.  A nice tidy design with hints of the Aesthetic Movement. Offered on a vintage 24" sterling silver rope chain. 

chain is hallmarked "925" on the clasp.

pendant is 1 1/2" long including bale and 1" wide

very good/excellent condition. The exterior gold wash has mellowed quite a bit, creating a two-two gold and silver look. The interior retains more of its original gold tone.
