bodice length: 19" in front, 21" in back
romantic design of white cotton seersucker with large mother of pearl buttons down the front. fitted bodice with princess seams and pleats that create a lightly flared peplum. dramatic bishop sleeves. interior petersham with hooks-and-eyes helps define/ reinforce the fitted waist. on close inspection you will note faded printed yellow stripes on the fabric, as well as serendipitous red threads woven in. many hand- finished details, including the button holes.

condition: good for age. sturdy, freshly laundered and ready to wear. some minor wear and tear throughout. a few small holes around the neckline, one with an old mend, two small holes at one sleeve cuff (these are all photographed). some general wear to fabric, seams, and button backs. if treated with due care, I think still a lot of life left. interior hooks-and-eyes have rusted and transferred some rust onto fabric. a few faint marks on back of blouse as well.
