Antique Cotton and Lace Blouse | Corset Cover
c. 1910 antique
a wonderful example of this style in semi-sheer cotton batiste, net, and lace, with whitework embroidery inserts. Cropped, blouson cut, wide scooped neckline, three small hidden mother of pearl buttons down the front. Thin satin ribbon woven at the neck and waist.
material: cotton
label: none
sizing: small-medium
shown on a size 8 form, model is M, 5' 8", 36" b | 29" w (wears top reversed, and open button at the bottom)
armhole: 16”
bust: approx. 36”
waist: up to 28” worn as shown, 25” if tied closed at the very bottom, up to 29/30" if not buttoned all the way.
length: 15”
condition: excellent for age. sturdy, clean, ready to wear. A little light yellowing around lace neckline/sleeves didn’t lift with initial soaking but could be gotten out if desired. I think it fits with the age and style of the blouse. Satin ribbons are original and a little worn. Waist ribbon broke and has been knotted back together. they are sturdy as decoration, but maybe not up for a lot of cinching and tieing. plan on handling them delicately or replacing.
