Antique 1903 Sterling Silver Vesta Pendant

c. 1903

late Victorian vesta case in sterling silver. softly rounded edges with hand-etched scrolling foliate and geometric motifs on both sides. hinged lid, match strike on the base. Paired with a 24" vintage silver rolo link chain.

vesta is hallmarked for Robert Pringle & Sons, Chester England, 1903
chain hallmarked illegibly on the clasp- tests as .800-.925 silver

case is 1 1/2" x 1"
approx. 17 g total weight

good/very good condition. lid does not quite meet the base when closed, but stays in place (does not swing open). both sides of case have some scattered denting. blank field where an initial could be added has some faint hand-scratched letters visible when examined closely. all things considered, a sturdy, lovely piece with great presence and personality.
