vintage 1970s
Strikingly large oval pendant of swirling turquoise and copper set into a sterling silver frame with milgrain accents and suspended by two bales on a chunky cable chain. A really interesting piece; it almost feels like it could hail from the Deco era.
chain is hallmarked "925" on the spring ring clasp.
pendant tests as sterling silver.
note: "Mojave" (or Mohave) turquoise is a composite of turquoise fragments compressed with resin and (often) copper. This technique was developed in the 70s. It is lightweight and smooth to the touch.
chain is 29" long
pendant is 3" x 2 1/4"
very good/excellent condition. one bale loop is bend slightly out of shape.
