vintage 1950s-60s

cream cashmere cardigan with extraordinary silk embroidery appliques featuring flowering branches and song birds. incredible color and detail. cropped fit with satin covered buttons and the bodice lined in silk crepe.

very good condition. presents beautifully. embroidery elements are appliquéd to the knit with edge stitching, some embroidery threads have come loose at the edges. it also appears some fabric glue was used to back the appliques and in a few areas it has yellowed a bit. these flaws are subtle. one pinhead sized hole in silk lining (not visible when worn).
