1930s Silk Novelty Print Day Dress

vintage 1930s

softest navy blue silk with striking cream squiggle/stripe print. puffed sleeves. bodice closes with hooks and eyes, side zipper. matching fabric belt.

approx. size: up to a medium, but I recommend extra allowance due to the more delicate nature of the fabric.

total length: 45"

fair condition. silk is clean and soft, but has stress tears under both arms, and stress around zipper, and some seam stress. velcro has been added to the belt and zipper is a nylon replacement for original snaps or metal zipper. a couple little marks noted on bodice near collar. one sleeve button broken. despite the flaws caused mainly by stress, I think the silk still has some life in it. could be a project piece, and/or would photograph nicely as-is. there's about 3 1/2" of extra fabric in the hem.
