1930s Sheer Pink Cotton Seersucker Gown | 1930s Pink Dress

Romance in the most subtle pink sheer cotton seersucker with unique bullseye weave. The yoked bodice with puff sleeves and heavy gathering across the shoulders and bust. Center pleats and decorative fabric-covered button detail at the front. Back slit and fabric covered slide buckle and tabs at the back to adjust waist. Bias-cut, modified a-line skirt with ruffle detail.  Snaps at the left side. With silk flower corsage.

Sizing: best for a modern size XXS/XS-XS
model is 5’ 3” 32 b| 24 w | 34 h, pulling dress on and off was a slow process, and sleeves were fitted on her. Sleeves are heavily gathered and have about 1" seam allowance. could be let out a tad and/or have elastic added to provide some ease. Also note: model is wearing 3” heels which you can’t see in the photos.

bust: 34” with some extra room for cups due to shirring
waist: 28” (cinch with back belt)
hip: free, best for 40” or less
bodice length: 16 ½” , pointed yoke extends an additional 2” in the front center
skirt length: 43”

Condition: very good. Fabric and seams are sturdy and wearable, presents beautifully, freshly laundered. Dress is overall faded from its original pink color to a very faint pink/nude tone. Pink color is more vibrant in some areas, like seams. Yellowing is more evident in some areas, like lower skirt. These variations get mostly lost in the sheerness and texture of the fabric. On close inspection there are a few light rusty marks on the skirt that did not fully lift. points of back slit have opened a bit and torn along the crease on one side, these have been stabilized with fine fusible web and a few stitches added. small darn near back neckline. a few slipped stitches in the sleeve cuffs- these areas were reinforced with some hidden slip stiches, so are stable. see images. fabric around buckle is a little worn.
