1930s Peachy Taffeta Puff Sleeve Gown with Cold Shoulder Detail
1930s vintage
romantic ruffly peachy pink taffeta dream. classic 30s bodice with gathered bust and yoked waist. puff balloon sleeves with cut-out ("cold") shoulders. bias cut skirt with ice blue velvet ribbon accents and wide hem ruffle. snaps closed at the side seam. original silk flower corsage included, would have been pinned at the shoulder, but looks sweet styled at the waist as well. length of blue satin ribbon is modern and included with purchase.
materials: acetate rayon
labels: none
sizing: S/M-M
model is M 5’8” 36” | 29 | 40 , you could go smaller but I wouldn’t go much bigger!
bust: 36 with some extra cup room due to shirring.
waist: 30”
hips: 40”
bodice length: 14 ½”
skirt length: 42”
condition: good. freshly cleaned, very sturdy, and a lot of fun to wear. scattered, mostly cosmetic flaws throughout. A few small tears in the skirt ruffle, a handful of scattered pin-prick to pinhead-sized holes in the skirt. A bit of fade and some light greyish scuffing/soiling at the shoulders and sleeves didn’t lift with soaking. Pin holes on the shoulder where the corsage was pinned (won’t show if you keep the corsage there!). back bodice seam had stress and was opening so I added a new line of machine stitching- there is a tiny pleat caused by this. Original net underskirt was cut out at some point. Overall just a slightly worn-in vibe. What I love about that is you can feel a little more comfortable doing your thing in this dress. The sheen and the drape of the fabric + all the eye-catching details really make up for the little flaws. Wear and enjoy!
