era: 1920s reworked in the 30s (possibly originally a dress)
approx. size: xsmall/small
shoulders: 14 1/2"
armholes (armscye): 16"
bust: 40" when laying flat, but fairly open due to cut
length: 22" not including sash
sleeve length: 23"
black satin (sewn with the matte side out) long sleeve top with dramatic V-neck trimmed in ecru lace. the sleeve hems trimmed in matching lace. long sash attached at the back can be secured in a number of ways. shown tied at the high hip/ waist, but could also be slung low across the hip. Sewn with V intended to be worn in front, but looks cool styled backwards too!
material: rayon satin, cotton lace
closure: pulls over head. sleeves snap closed/open at the wrist
label: none
condition: good. very sturdy and wearable. as previously noted, this piece was reworked at some point in its life and has some quirks accordingly. some lines of removed stitching are visible on close inspection, some hand stitching, etc. lace has some darkened marks that are visible, but do not draw the eye and largely get lost in the drape.
